5 ways to make the most of your health and wellness benefits

Most of us are no stranger to wellness programs. Many employers offer them to support employees and their family members with the goal of improving overall health and well-being. Encouraging adopting a healthy lifestyle continues when you enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan. As an Aspire Health Plan member, we offer additional health and wellness benefits to help support your overall well-being. These include coaching, education, screenings, and a fitness benefit. What can you do to make the most of your health and wellness benefits? We have a few ideas.

First, sign up for Aspire Rewards, a program where you can earn rewards for taking care of your health. If you are new to Aspire Rewards, you can use this link to sign up online, or call (888) 286-5785, or sign up by mail. You can also use this contact information to find out which activities are available to you. Once you are registered, you can earn rewards for recommended healthcare activities that meet your individual needs. These include:

  • Your Annual Wellness Visit or Health at Home visit
  • Breast cancer screening
  • Diabetes eye exam

After you complete one of these activities, let us know, and we’ll send you a gift card reward.

Second, join us at our Community Connections classes. We encourage you to bring a friend and make a friend. Each month, we update our website with a list of classes on topics to help you manage your health and well-being while also connecting with others in our community. You can check our website or our Facebook page for upcoming events.

Third, use your fitness benefit. As an Aspire Health Plan member, you can enroll in the Silver&Fit® exercise and healthy aging program. After you pay your annual member fee, you have access to   online tools, fitness center memberships, or the home fitness program. There are plenty of virtual gym workouts on the Silver&Fit Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Fourth, schedule your Annual Wellness Visit. Every 12 months, this free visit helps develop and/or update your personalized prevention plan, based on your current health and risk factors, to prevent disease and disability. Many members may also be contacted about scheduling a free Health at Home visit, which should be a few months apart from the Annual Wellness Visit. During this visit, you receive a comprehensive health and wellness assessment performed by a licensed clinician in the comfort of your own home at no cost.

Fifth, look into our health coaching program. This program is delivered by certified healthcare professionals with knowledge in chronic condition management. Members can engage at their convenience in a meaningful education program that includes programs focused on prediabetes, back care, weight management, and more.
